What to Expect

What are the services like?

Sunday School begins at 9:45 with everyone all together in the auditorium.  After singing together and reading a missionary letter, we divide up into different classes based on age. Sunday School ends at approximately 10:45 at which time we have an informal fellowship time .

Our Morning Worship time begins at 11:00 (many arrive 10-15 minutes early for the fellowship and coffee).  Children worship along side their parents.  There is a Scripture reading, singing, prayer, and preaching.  You will find our worship music to be conservative with a mix of old and new hymns that are rich in their teaching about God.  As you walk into our church, you will want to pick up a bulletin in which will be the song-of-the-month that will be sung together during the morning service.

You will find the sermons to be Biblically sound, expository preaching.  Generally, sermons are preached in a book based series.  Pastor will go through each passage in a book explaining what the text of Scripture means and applying it to the life of the believer.

After the service, people normally stay around for awhile to talk and fellowship with each other, so don’t feel like you have to leave right away.

Our Sunday evening worship service is at 6:00 p.m. every Sunday The evening service is relaxed with a lot of interaction.  You have the opportunity to request your favorite song from the hymnbook and ask questions about the morning sermon.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us for all our services.

What is the congregation like?

You will find community of believers of all ages and walks of life who are banded together as a family and striving to learn the Bible, love one another, and grow into Christ-likeness.

What should I wear?

Although we do not have a specific dress code, we encourage people to dress in a way that gives honor to God.  While some people will wear a tie or a dress, many will wear more casual attire.

Is there a nursery?

Nursery is provided by qualified workers for small children up through age 4, but there is no pressure to send your child to the nursery.  Children of all ages are welcome in our services and encouraged to participate. Note that Nursery has been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19.

Hopefully this will give you a good idea of what a Sunday morning is like at Maranatha Baptist Church, but the only way you’ll truly get the experience is if you come and visit. We can’t wait to meet you!
